A lot of people have been overlooking The Maze Runner, viewing it as simply one more young adult novel adaptation to ass to the list of films that slip past with few people paying much attention. However reports coming out of Comic Con suggest it could actually be something a bit more interesting.
That’s certainly backed up by this new trailer, which looks surprisingly cool and intense, and seems to have learned lessons from Hunger Games that you can get away with being quite dark.
Here’s the synopsis: ‘Based on the best-selling young adult thriller, THE MAZE RUNNER is set in a post-apocalyptic world, where Thomas is deposited in a community of young men after his memory is erased. After learning they’re all trapped in a maze, Thomas joins forces with fellow “runners” to not only escape the maze, but solve its riddle and reveal the chilling secret of who brought them there, and why.’
Dylan O’Brien, Will Poulter, Kaya Scodelaria, Thomas Brodie-Sangster and Patricia Clarkson star. It’ll be out in cinemas in October.
