Golden did well of the LGBT film festival circuit last year, and now director Kai Stänicke has felt moved to release it online following the tragic events in Orlando. You can certainly see why he felt that way, as in only three minutes it does a great job of showing the importance for LGBT people of community and finding spaces where they can find other people like themselves and feel part of something.
The film takes us through the first 20 years of a boy who is born literally golden, but he appears to be the only one like it. Or perhaps it’s just that in a world of people who don’t immediately seem like him, he simply isn’t noticing how golden the world is.
It’s a great and surprisingly moving short, so take a look at it below. If you know a short film we ought to be posting, tell us by getting in touch via our contact page. And check out more gay short films and web series here.
