It might not quite be Christmas yet, but it’s time for a festive themed short film about two gay brothers. However, more than the festive season, it’s about two siblings trying to find common ground, despite the different lives they’re leading and one feeling abandoned by the other.
Queer Canadian Asian writer-director Jason Karman’s film got a great reception at film festivals a couple of year ago. Now it’s available to view online, and below!
Here’s the synopsis: ‘Christmas, sometimes you have to be there. After a prolonged absence, Carl returns home for Christmas with a new boyfriend only to find hostility from his brother, who is also gay, for being left to take care for their aging parents. Tensions come to a breaking point, but once emotions are out in the open Carl learns to focus on what is important.’
