A few days ago we posted Jason Karman’s short film Kimchi Fried Dumplings, and now we’ve got another from the queer Canadian Asian writer/director, I Really Like You. The short has screened all around the world, including at the BFI Flare London LGBT Film Festival, the Inside/Out Toronto Gay and Lesbian Film Festival and the Melbourne Queer Film Festival.
So what’s it about? Here’s the synopsis: ‘Michael runs a diner frequented by people looking for casual sex. Loveless, he swoons over the most recent visitor, Brandt. When Brandt reveals he’s not interested in love, Michael takes the rejection poorly to say the least.’
As you’ll see, things take a bit of a violent turn if Michael doesn’t get the emotional affirmation he craves.
It’s now been posted online via the new platform, MySpotlightTV, and you can ake a look at I Really Like You below. If you know a short film we ought to be posting, tell us by getting in touch viaour contact page. And check out more gay short films and web series here.
