John Logan To Write Bond 24, With An Autumn 2014 Release Already Eyed

MGM’s bankruptcy meant there was a four-year gap between Quantum of Solace and Skyfall, but the studio, along with partner Sony Pictures, is wasting no time getting the next James Bond movie in motion. Although Skyfall has only just opened in 25 markets (taking a stonking $77 million, which is incredibly impressive considering none of those markets was the US), has hired John Logan to write the screenplay for Bond 24, with an autumn 2014 release date already being targeted, according to THR.

John Logan rewrote the existing Skyfall script by Neal Purvis and Robert Wade, who have co-written the last five 007 movies since 1999′s The World Is Not Enough. John Logan will write the Bond 24 screenplay by himself, with the writing duo stepping aside and moving on to other non-Bond projects. It’s also believed Logan has been contracted to write Bond 25, which suggests the possibility the films will be closely linked.

Daniel Craig will return as James Bond, and supporting stars Naomie Harris, Ben Whishaw, and Ralph Fiennes have begun negotiations to reprise their roles from Skyfall.

Skyfall World Premiere Wrap-up Video – See what went down on the red carpet

The World Premiere of Skyfall took place last night at the Royal Albert Hall (they’re sidestepping its usual Odeon Leicester Square home for this one), in the presence of Prince Charles and his wife Camilla. If you missed the red carpet action on the livestream, you can catch up with this video from the event, featuring all the stars of the movie talking up the film. Take a look.

Adele’s Skyfall Theme Song – Take a listen to the chanteuse’s full track

The full version of Adele’s theme song for the upcoming Bond movie Skyfall has arrived. It’s a very good track, which feels modern and yet harks back to classic 007, with lots of strings and a feel that will fit well with the series’ traditional elaborate title sequences. The don’t have that sequence yet, so you’ll have to head to cinemas on October 26th to get a look at those. In the film, Daniel Craig returns as James Bond, helping M after ghosts from her past return.

Take A Look At The New Skyfall UK Poster

Last week a US poster for Skyfall that had Daniel Craig flat on his back, and now the UK version is here which sees him fiddling with his gun – that James Bond can’t help but be a little bit suggestive.

It’s not long now until Skyfall hits UK cinemas on October 26th (and November 9th in America), with Bond having to come to M’s aid, after her past comes back to haunt her.

New Skyfall US Poster Released

It’s not long now until Skyfall hits UK cinemas on October 26th (and November 9th in America), and in preparation a new US poster for the movie has been released, which suggests Bond will be spending time on his back in the movie (but then, when doesn’t he?).

It’s slick and rather cool, and set us up for the film, where Bond has to come to M’s aid, after her past comes back to haunt her.

Great New Skyfall Character Posters Arrive

A set of rather slick new characters posters and a banner have arrived for Skyfall via the movie’s Facebook page, with everyone in their Sunday finest and looking rather glam (although Javier Bardem still looks rather weird as a blond). The posters feature Daniel Craig as James Bond, Bardem as the villainous Silva, Berenice Marlohe as Severine and Naomie Harris as Eve.

The movie is due to hit UK cinemas on October 26th, before reaching the US on November 9th. Hopefully we’ll get plenty more cool stuff before then.

New Skyfall Trailer – James Bond is back (after being dead for a bit)

It’s all action in the new Skyfall trailer, which suggest 007 is back on track after the messy blip that was Quantum Of Solace. It appears Bond is believed dead and M is in a bit of trouble. However the thankfully still breathing 007 is called back into action, meeting his new Q (Ben Whishaw), going up against a very blond Javier Bardem and watching an awful lot of things explode. It’s looking very cool and will hit UK cinemas on October 26th, before it hits the US on November 9th.

New Skyfall Video Blog – Take a look at the return of the Aston DB5

I’m not sure if normal people care about James Bond’s cars as much as car marketers do, but there’s little doubt 007′s automobiles have a long history and have got a lot of publicity. Now it’s time to unveil Skyfall’s main auto, the Aston DB5, which made it debut on Top Gear. Skyfall opens at cinemas across the UK on 26th October 2012, and sees Bond’s loyalty to M tested as her past comes back to haunt her. As MI6 comes under attack, 007 must track down and destroy the threat, no matter how personal the cost.

First Look At Ben Whishaw As Q In Skyfall

When Sam Mendes had his first press conference for Skyfall, he was very coy about who certain people would be playing, including Ben Whishaw. Most speculation centred on him playing the latest take on the character Q, but it’s only now that’s been confirmed, and the first image of him in the role has been released.

Whishaw becomes the fourth actor to play Bond’s quartermaster affectionately known as Q. The role began with Peter Burton as Major Boothroyd in Dr. No, followed by Desmond Llewelyn (in 17 Bond films between 1963-1999), and John Cleese (who appeared as Q’s assistant, R, in The World is Not Enough and was later promoted to Q in Die Another Day).

Producers Michael G. Wilson and Barbara Broccoli commented, “It’s a real thrill to confirm the return of Q in Skyfall played by the enormously talented, Ben Whishaw. We are delighted to have this beloved character back in the series.”

Skyfall hits UK cinemas on October 26th.

Skyfall Teaser Trailer – Daniel Craig is looking stylish

We had the first poster at the end of last week and now the official teaser trailer for Skyfall has dropped, and if the rest of the film is anything like as stylish as this first look, we’re in for a real treat. It really is a fantastic looking promo for the movie. The one thing it lacks is much info on the plot, although it does reveal that the Skyfall title refers to some sort of job 007 is assigned. The film will begin its worldwide roll-out later this year in the UK and Ireland on October 26th and in North America on November 9th.
