Last week we found out that while Clint Eastwood had said Gran Torino would be his last trip in front of the camera, he was in talks to star in the baseball drama Trouble With The Curve, the directorial debut of frequent Eastwood collaborator Robert Lorenz. Now it appears he may have some star company in the movie, as Twitch reports that Sandra Bullock is in talks to sign on.
The script, by Randy Brown, follows an aging baseball scout who’s slowly losing his vision, but goes on a road trip with his adult daughter to look for new players in Atlanta. As this may well be Eastwood’s last film, the role of the daughter is undoubtedly a coveted one and so it’s a bit of a no-brainer for Bullock to agree to it. She may be best known for her comedic roles, but she’s actually better at drama, as evidenced by her Oscar win for The Blind Side.
The no news on when Trouble With The Curve might start shooting, but it should be fairly soon, as Eastwood is currently free because Beyonce’s pregnancy has delayed the making of his planned A Star Is Born remake.
