With Demi Moore in rehab (officially due to exhaustion and unofficially due to substance issues that led to a recently released 911 call when she fell into a semi-conscious state), she’s not going to be able to take part in Lovelace, which is currently filming.
Moore was due to play well known feminist and activist Gloria Steinem, and now Variety reports she’ll be replaced by Sarah Jessica Parker, in what is believed to be essentially a cameo. Rob Epstein and Jeffrey Friedman (Howl, The Celluloid Closet) will direct, telling the story of porn actress Linda Lovelace, star of the infamous Deep Throat, who later became a noted anti-porn advocate.
Amanda Seyfried will play the title role, with Peter Sarsgaard portraying Lovelace’s husband, Chuck Traynor. Parker joins recently announced cast members Chloe Sevigny, Debi Mazar, Cory Hardrict, Adam Brody, Eric Roberts, Hank Azaria, Bobby Cannavale, Chris Noth, Robert Patrick, Wes Bentley, Sharon Stone and Juno Temple.
