Although Squirrel To The Nuts is a pretty rubbish title for a film, as it’s going to be produced by Wes Anderson and Noah Baumbach, and directed by peter Bogdanovich, you’ve got to hope there’ll be something worthwhile about this upcoming comedy. And with them involved it’s almost guaranteed to be quirky.
It’s also pulling together a pretty good cast, as Variety reports that Owen Wilson, Brie Larson and Olivia Wilde are all onboard, with Jason Schwartzman sniffing around a role too. Bogdanovich’s script is about a prostitute turned Broadway actor (Larson) who sees her two worlds collide. Wilson will be a big-name Broadway director who like to hire Larson both professionally and personally, despite the fact that he’s married to the star of his latest play. Wilde, meanwhile, will a therapist whose own mother is in rehab. There’s no news on who Schwartzman might play.
Bogdanovich is currently trying to get the money together for the film, with an autumn shoot planned.
