If you live in Latin America, you’ve probably known of Diego Boneta for years, but he’s pretty new to the rest of us. Born in Mexico, he’s had an incredibly successful career as a solo singer, staring when he was just a teen, even playing to 120,000 people at Maracanã Stadium in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil in 2006.

He initially went into acting in Central American telenovelas, before going north of the border for guest spots on the likes of 90210 and Pretty Little Liars, as well as appearing in Mean Girls 2. He’s about to get a major career boost playing the lead male role in the musical Rock Of Ages, alongside Tom Cruise and Catherine Zeta-Jones, as a young guy desperate to make it big in the world of Rock ‘n’ Roll.
