Jennifer Lawrence must have had a great time making Silver Linings Playbook, as just a few days ago she signed up for David O. Russell’s next movie (formely titled American Bullsh*t), and now THR reports that she’s also gotten him involved to direct The Ends Of The Earth, which she’s been attached to last August.
Argo screenwriter Chris Terrio wrote the script, which is based on the true story of an oil tycoon who lost everything after engaging in an affair with his adopted daughter. Lawrence is set to play the daughter, Lydie Marland. However oil baron Ernest Marland has not been cast yet.
O. Russell commented, “Jennifer possesses a self-deprecating humor that made all of the cast and crew feel at ease. She is that kind of person. She is the most dedicated person I know. She is devoted to her family, and they have been the true inspiration for her character and integrity. Her acting is effortless, and she always makes it look easy.”
It really does seem it’s a bit of a mutual love-in between the director and actress.
American Bullsh*t will come first, with a Spring shoot already planned for that movie, with Ends Of The Earth coming sometime afterwards.
