Horrible Bosses was a pretty decent sized hit, grossing $200 million around the world on a $35 million budget. Ever since it was released, there’s been talk of a sequel, but it’s only now that it’s really coming together, with the news, via THR, that Jason Bateman, Charlie Day, and Jason Sudeikis have finalised deals to return for Horrible Bosses 2. Jamie Foxx is also in talks to reprise his role, although he’s yet to sign on the dotted line.
The original movie followed Nick Hendricks (Jason Bateman), Dale Arbus (Charlie Day), and Kurt Buckman (Jason Sudeikis), three friends who are sick and tired of their dreadful bosses. Unable to take anymore, they hatch a plan to get rid of their employers once and for all.
Apparently the sequel will feature a brand new set of bosses, but there is reportedly room for Kevin Spacey and Jennifer Aniston to return (if you’ve seen the first movie, you’ll know Colin Farrell is unlikely to return).
John Francis Daley and Jonathan M. Goldstein are writing the script, with Seth Gordon returning to direct. The shoot should take place sometime this summer.
