Ever since Rise Of The Planet Of The Apes director Rupert Wyatt dropped out of helming the sequel, he’s flirted with various projects, most notably trying to get a movie version of Sebastian Faulks’ Birdsong off the ground. Now he’s added another movie to his development list, Night Film, according to THR.
The movie will be based on an upcoming noir thriller by Marisha Pessl, which ‘tells the story of an investigative journalist named Scott McGrath who begins looking into the death of a beautiful young woman that was originally deemed a suicide. The woman turns out to be the daughter of a reclusive, cult horror film director named Stanislas Cordova, and McGrath finds himself on a journey of revenge and truth.’
It’s early days for the adaptation as no writer is attached as yet. It’s not known if Wyatt is looking at this as his next potential project, or just one for the future.
