Danny Woodburn is one of those faces you’ll probably recognise, even if you don’t know his name, as he’s popped up in the likes of Seinfeld, Bones, Mirror Mirror and just about every US TV show imaginable. Now he’s got a great new role, even if we won’t actually be able to see him in it, as he’ll be playing Splinter in the new live-action Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie, according to Deadline.
Alan Ritchson (Raphael), Pete Ploszek (Leonardo), Jeremy Howard (Donatello), and Noel Fisher (Michelangelo) star as the Turtles, with Megan Fox portraying the female lead (it has still not been confirmed if she is playing reporter April O’Neil, or a new character). Splinter is the Turtles’ wise rat mentor, who teaches his be-shelled students the arts of ninja. Both the Turtles and Splinter will be rendered using motion-capture.
Will Arnett also stars in an unspecified role in the film. Jonathan Liebesman is directing from a screenplay by André Nemec, Josh Appelbaum, Art Marcum, and Matt Holloway. Shooting has already begun, with a summer 2014 release set.
