When Shia LaBeouf announced he was ‘done’ with Hollywood, many presumed that meant we’d only see him in little, edgy movies from now on, but it seems he is interested in keeping his star alive, as yesterday we reported he’s in talks to join Robert de Niro in Spy’s Kid, and now Variety reports that he’s likely to join Brad Pitt in the World War II movie, Fury.
Based on a true story the drama is about a five-man American tank crew towards the end of World War II, who must fight an increasingly desperate Nazi army in April 1945. Shia LaBeouf will play one of the Sherman tank crew members, if a deal is finalised.
David Ayer (End Of Watch) is directing from his own original screenplay. Filming is scheduled to begin this September, with a release date of November 14, 2014 already set.
