Mission: Impossible 5 is moving into high gear, with Tom Cruise recently committing to starring and Jack Ryan helmer Christopher McQuarrie reportedly in talks to direct. Many assumed he would also write the movie, but now THR reports that Iron Man 3 co-writer Drew Pearce is in talks to script M:I 5.
He seems like a good choice, although at the moment there’s no news on the direction he’ll take the plot and what Ethan Hunt will be up to this time around.
Pearce is going to have to work pretty fast though, as Cruise wants to shoot the movie this autumn, giving them a relatively limited time to get the script up to par and all the pre-production sorted – something that can take ages on a movie of this scale.
