Last week it was revealed that Clint Eastwood was looking at lesser known names with musical theatre pedigrees for the main roles in his film version of the hit Broadway musical, Jersey Boys. However it looks like there’ll be some well known names surrounding them, as Deadline reports that Christopher Walken has signed on to appear in the movie.
The musical tells the true story of Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons. It particularly explores the young band’s allegiance to a code of honour, which they learned on the streets of their New Jersey and which got them through their toughest life challenges.
Christopher Walken will be portraying Angelo ‘Gyp’ DeCarlo, who played a pivotal role in the band’s success and steered them away for the grip of organised crime. Vincent Piazza, John Lloyd Young, Erich Bergen and Michael Lomenda are set to plays the band.
Shooting is set to begin in September in Los Angeles.
