Reese Witherspoon is going Wild, and we’re not talking about when she got arrested after her hubby was pulled over recently. Nope, Variety reports that she’s signed up to star in Wild, based on Cheryl Strayed’s bestselling novel.
Top author Nick Hornby (About A Boy, High Fidelity) is set to write the script, which is about how Strayed ‘hiked 1,000 miles alone on the Pacific Crest Trail following years of destructive behavior in the wake of the dissolution of her marriage and her mother’s death.’
No director is currently attached, but Fox Searchlight is planning to sort that soon, as they want to film the movie this autumn.
“We are so excited to be working with Fox Searchlight to bring Wild to the screen,” Witherspoon, who will also produce, commented. “It is an extraordinary company that continually strives to bring original, inspirational films to the marketplace. We are thrilled to collaborate with them on Wild.”
