Way back last November there were rumours that Sylvester Stallone was trying to secure Harrison Ford for The Expendables 3. It’s taken a long time but Stallone has now confirmed that Harrison will indeed be part of the movie but Bruce Willis, who appeared in the first two movies, won’t return.
Stallone tweeted, ‘WILLIS OUT… HARRISON FORD IN !!!! GREAT NEWS !!!!! Been waiting years for this!!!!’
It was recently revealed that Kellan Lutz is in talks to play a member of a younger group of Expendables who will go up against the likes of Stallone, Jason Statham, Dolph Lundgren, Terry Crews and Randy Couture. Mel Gibson is currently set to be the villain, with Jackie Chan, Steven Seagal, Milla Jovovich and Wesley Snipes also rumoured to star.
Patrick Hughes (Red Hill) is directing from a screenplay by Richard Wenk. Production is scheduled to begin later this summer.
There’s also suggestions of a rift between Willis and Stallone as Sylvester followed his tweet above with the message, ‘GREEDY AND LAZY …… A SURE FORMULA FOR CAREER FAILURE’, although didn’t say what he was talking about.
