Reese Witherspoon wants to be a Disney princess, although of a slightly different type than usual, as THR reports that the House Of Mouse has bought a fairy tale inspired pitch from screenwriter Nahnatchka Khan, (best known for creating the series Don’t Trust the B—- in Apartment 23), with Witherspoon attached to star.
The film, called Happily Ever After, will be a bit of a spin on the usual fairy tale film, as rather than concentrating on the heroine finding her prince, it picks up 10 years later, when the characters realise that just because the traditional tale has ended, it doesn’t necessarily mean trouble-free life and an always perfect relationship. There’s no news on the exact storyline though.
It could be fun if done well, in the same way Enchanted gave fairy tales a bit of a different spin. There’s no info though on whether it’s being planned as a family film or aimed at people who are slightly older.
