Over the weekend rumours emerged that Tim Burton was seriously considering directing Beetlejuice 2. Now that’s been confirmed, with TheWrap reporting that Burton is indeed in talks to helm the long-gestating movie.
Michael Keaton is also expected to reprise his role as the title character, although it’s no clear if his deal is set yet or not. It may be that Burton is happy to agree to make Beetlejuice 2, as long as he also gets to helm an adaptation of Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children.
Seth Grahame-Smith and David Katzenberg wrote the screenplay the Beetlejuice follow-up, although no story details have been revealed yet. It’s not clear when it might shoot, although it appear Burton will make another movie first, so don’t expect it anytime soon.
