When he was young, Robert Knepper was allowed to played good guys, however in recent years – particularly since his villainous role in Prison Break – he’s only been allowed to be a baddie. That’s not changing here.
The official Hunger Games Twitter has revealed that he’s signed up to appear in two-part The Hunger Games: Mockingjay, where he’ll be playing Antonius, who’s a minister to Donald Sutherland’s evil President Snow.
He joins a cast that already include Jennifer Lawrence (Katniss Everdeen), Josh Hutcherson (Peeta Mellark), Liam Hemsworth (Gale Hawthorne), Philip Seymour Hoffman (Plutarch Heavensbee), Julianne Moore (Alma Coin), Natalie Dormer (Cressida), Stef Dawson (Annie Cresta), Lily Rabe (Commander Lyme) and Evan Ross (Messalla).
Directed by Francis Lawrence and based on the novel Mockingjay by Suzanne Collins, The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1 & The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2 complete Katniss Everdeen’s (Jennifer Lawrence) journey as she leads the districts of Panem in a rebellion against the tyrannical and corrupt Capitol. As the war that will determine the fate of Panem escalates, Katniss must decipher for herself who she can trust and what needs to be done, with everything she cares for in the balance.
Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1 will be released worldwide on November 21, 2014 and The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2 opens November 20, 2015.
