With production due to start soon, Shawn Levy is busy filling out the cast of Night Of The Museum 3. Now he’s added another name, as Deadline reports that Ben Kingsley has signed up for the movie. He joins returning stars such as Robin Williams, Ricky Gervais, Owen Wilson and Steve Coogan, as well as newcomers Dan Stevens and Rebel Wilson.
Kingsley with play a formidable Egyptian pharaoh who is on display in the British Museum – and yes, that does mean the franchise is moving to Britain this time. It’s not known whether Kingsley’s character will be on the side of good or bad, although it’s believed Dan Steven’s Sir Lancelot will be the main bad guy this time around. It’s also not known if the British Museum will be the only one of London’s attractions which will come to life in the film.
Shawn Levy will once more direct, working from a screenplay by franchise creators Thomas Lennon and Robert Ben Garant. Night At The Museum is currently due out just before Christmas.
