Over the last few days we’ve got to witness Andrew Garfield exploring his sexuality and gender expression – which I’m sure wasn’t quite in the script for Sony’s marketing of Amazing Spider-man 2, but it works!
Earlier today we posted a video from Garfield’s Saturday Night Live appearance, which ended with him kissing Coldplay’s Chris Martin, while the singer was donning a blonde wig.
Now a clip has emerged from Arcade Fire’s upcoming video for their track, We Exist. It cuts between Garfield shaving his head and wandering through a music festival while wearing women’s clothing (and looking rather 1980s, it has to be said).
The festival shots were filmed at Coachella last month.
The tune itself also has an LGBT slant, as Rolling Stone reports that Arcade Fire’s Win Butler told the Coachella crowd, “The right to marry anyone you want is a human rights issue.” They then launched into We Exist, which is about a son coming out to his father.
