It’s been a while since we had a Vacation movie. There were four between 1983 and 1997, and then in 2010 came Hotel Hell Vacation, although the less said about that the better. However now the series is returning from straight-to-DVD hell for a full-on reboot, with Chevy Chase and Beverly Beverly D’Angelo returning as Clark and Ellen Griswold.
However the focus now is on the their fully grown son Rusty (now played by Ed Helms), who has a family of his own that are all ready to get into all manner of holiday chaos.
With a July release set the first images from the movie have now arrived, which you can see above and below.
Here’s the synopsis: ‘The next generation of Griswolds is at it again—and on the road for another ill-fated adventure. Following in his father’s footsteps and hoping for some much-needed family bonding, a grown-up Rusty Griswold (Ed Helms) surprises his wife, Debbie (Christina Applegate), and their two sons with a cross-country trip back to America’s “favorite family fun park,” Walley World.’
