Although I think the first G.I. Joe movie was unjustly maligned as it’s not a bad movie at all, Paramount knows that it’s got to make the follow-up look like something really special. They’re not doing a bad job so far, and now they’ve unleashed a new trailer which makes G.I. Joe: Retaliation look pretty cool. This trailer actually briefly acknowledges Channing Tatum’s in the film (he was absent from the first promo), as well as giving us a little more of the plot and suggesting that while there’d been talk of this film completely ignoring the first, it will follow-on from at least some of the plotline of that movie. G.I. Joe: Retaliation hits cinemas June 22nd.
G.I. Joe 2: Retaliation Super Bowl Ad
With this Sunday’s Super Bowl likely to see a slew of cool ads for the summer’s big movies, G.I. Joe 2 has decided to try and steal a march on the rest by release their Super Bowl spot a few days early. It’s action-packed, but what’s most noticeable is that despite the fact Channing Tatum is supposedly returning as the main character, he doesn’t feature in the trailer at all, with the focus being more on new players Dwayne Johnson and Bruce Willis. The film hits cinemas this June.
The Cold Light Of Day Trailer
If you’re going to get kidnapped, it certainly helps if the person looking for you is Superman! The Cold Light Of Day sees Henry Cavill – who’ll be putting on the Man Of Steel’s cape later this year – going off on holiday to Spain with his parents (Bruce Willis & Caroline Goodall). When they’re kidnapped, Cavill sets out to find them and falls headlong into an ever deepening conspiracy. The film aslo stars Sigourney Weaver and is due to hit cinemas this spring. For now, enjoy the trailer.
Moonrise Kingdom Trailer
I’m never sure whether I like Wes Anderson movies or not. I think it’s probably most accurate to say that I’m bemused by them. However he has a lot of devoted fans who’ll be looking forward to his next effort, Moonrise Kingdom. From this first trailer, it seems we’re back into a world of whimsy and eccentricity, with plenty of stars along for the ride, including Edward Norton, Bruce Willis, Bill Murray, Frances McDormand, Tilda Swinton and Jason Schwartzman. Set on an island off the coast of New England in the summer of 1965, Moonrise Kingdom tells the story of two 12-year-olds who fall in love, make a secret pact, and run away together into the wilderness. As various authorities try to hunt them down, a violent storm is brewing offshore, and the peaceful island community is turned upside down in more ways than anyone can handle. Bruce Willis plays the local sheriff. Edward Norton is a Khaki Scout troop leader. Bill Murray and Frances McDormand portray the young girl’s parents. It should be in cinemas this summer.
The Expendables 2 Trailer – Even expendablier than before
To be honest, this is less a trailer a more a list of people appearing in the movie, but that’s half the fun of the nostalgia trip that is the The Expendables. So if you’re interested in seeing who’s back for the sequel, take a look at the trailer.
Here’s the synopsis: ‘The Expendables are back and this time it’s personal… Barney Ross (Sylvester Stallone), Lee Christmas (Lee Statham), Yin Yang (Jet Li), Gunnar Jensen (Dolph Lundgren),Toll Road (Randy Couture) and Hale Caesar (Terry Crews) — with newest members Billy the Kid (Liam Hemsworth) and Maggie (Yu Nan) aboard – are reunited when Mr. Church (Bruce Willis) enlists the Expendables to take on a seemingly simple job. The task looks like an easy paycheck for Barney and his band of old-school mercenaries. But when things go wrong and one of their own is viciously killed, the Expendables are compelled to seek revenge in hostile territory where the odds are stacked against them. Hell-bent on payback, the crew cuts a swath of destruction through opposing forces, wreaking havoc and shutting down an unexpected threat in the nick of time – six pounds of weapons-grade plutonium; enough to change the balance of power in the world. But that’s nothing compared to the justice they serve against the villainous adversary who savagely murdered their brother. That is done the Expendables way.’ It’ll be in cinemas August, 2012.
G.I. Joe: Retaliation Trailer – Channing Tatum’s back
G.I. Joe: The Rise Of Cobra got pilloried by many people, but it actually made a fair amount of cash. So while Paramount was keen to continue the franchise, it appears they also wanted to start over a little as well – or at least that’s what this trailer suggests. Going for a less flashly silly style than the first film, this looks like it’ll be more grounded and action-packed. It’s actually kind of interesting though that Channing Tatum’s Duke seems to be slightly sidelined in favour of introducing Dwayne Johnson as Roadblock and Bruce Willis as the original GI Joe, as well as showing off some spectacular Snake Eyes fighting. The film June 22nd, but enjoy the trailer.
First Expendables 2 Poster Emerges
It’s a poster that pretty much speaks for itself, and just assures us that shit loads of top action people are going to be in The Expendables 2 (or Ex2 as the poster would like us to call it). It’s definitely going for the style of a late-80s/early-90s movie, which is exactly what people are hoping the film will be. The Expendable 2 hits cinemas next sumer and stars Jason Statham, Jet Li, Dolph Lundgren, Terry Crews, Randy Couture, Jean-Claude Van Damme, Chuck Norris, Liam Hemsworth, Bruce Willis, and Arnold Schwarzenegger. Die Hard Will Be Your Valentine
20th Century Fox has been busy setting release, which has also allowed us to know exactly what the fifth Die Hard movie will be called. Indeed it’s let us know the film is a ot closer than many had thought it was.
According to Fox, it’ll be called A Good Day to Die Hard, and although you wouldn’t really think of the Die Hard franchise the ultimate in romance, it will hit theaters on Valentine’s Day 2013. But then, as Feb 14th is normally when guys take girls to see soppy films only the woman really wants to see, why should they release a film where it’s the other way around.
Shooting will begin on the movie January 2012, with John Moore in the director’s chair. The film will take the franchise international, as it set in Russia and starts out with John McClane heading to Moscow to sweet talk some cops into letting his apparently-wayward son out of jail. However, when he gets there, the events surrounding his son’s arrest aren’t what they appear and world-threatening terrorist hijinks ensue.
The studio has also set Taken 2 for a October 5, 2012 release, while Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters will hit on Wednesday March 27, 2013. Parental Guidance, formerly known as Us & Them, will arrive on November 21, 2012, while Of Men and Mavericks, previously known as Mavericks will be released on October 26, 2012, and Walking with Dinosaurs 3D has been moved from a December 20, 2013 release date to October 11, 2013.
So is A Good Day To Die Hard a good title? Let us know.
