It’s been easy to forget that in less than a year, DC/Warner will be really upping their game with Justice League, which will bring together the likes of Batman, Wonder Woman, The Flash, Superman, Aquaman and Cyborg. To remind us, a new pic has arrived via EW, showing the first three of those superheroes lining up.
Of course, before next November’s Justice League, Wonder Woman will be getting her own standalone movie next June, while solo movies for the other characters are already mapped between now and 2019. DC will be hoping these film are better received than than the likes of Batman v Superman and Suicide Squad, which made decent amounts of cash, but haven’t been able to dent Marvel’s superiority in the critical and fanboy stakes.
The Justice League mash-up certainly has plenty of potential though. Expect it in cinemas next November.
At one point, Deathly Hallows was the end. Now we’ve got a new Harry Potter play – Cursed Child – playing in London, and the imminent film spin-off, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, is on its way. The latter has now released its final trailer, which looks great – familiar enough to those who love everything Potter, while also promising something new.
Synopsis: ‘Set in the wizarding world created by J.K. Rowling and directed by David Yates. The film stars Academy Award winner Eddie Redmayne, Colin Farrell, Ron Perlman, Dan Fogler, Katherine Waterston, Alison Sudol, Ezra Miller, Samantha Morton, Gemma Chan, and Jon Voight.
Despite the somewhat muted response to Batman v Superman, plans are still going full steam ahead for a Justice League movie, and to get fanboys excited, Warner Bros. unveiled a sizzle reel at Comic-Com. Luckily for us, they’ve put it on the internet so we can all take a look.
In case there was anyone who wasn’t aware that the upcoming Fantastic Beasts & Where To Find Them is a Harry Potter spin-off, this new trailer absolutely underlines the fact, as well as letting us know it’s a brand new story. There’s mention of Albus Dumbledore, muggles and Hogwarts, as well as the iconic Potter musical theme, but also a setting that’s clearly the America of the past.
For those who’ve been suffering major withdrawal symptoms since the last Harry Potter movie hit cinemas, hope is coming in the form of Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, a spin-off set in the same magical world, but several decades before Harry went to Hogwarts. David Yates is once more directing, and to show us that things are indeed the same but different, the first trailer and official poster have arrived.
DC has extremely ambitious plans to create a comic book movie universe to rival Marvel’s, with the seeds being sown with next year’s Batman v Superman. That will lead into all sorts of film running up to a full-on Justice League film and beyond.
If you were going to put a bet on which actor fame was going to go into overdrive in the next couple of year, Ezra Miller would be a safe choice. He’s already been chosen to be The Flash in Warner’s Justice League project (he’ll first be seen as the character in Batman vs. Superman next year), and now the studio is also trying to line him up for their Harry Potter spin-off, Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them, according to 
A few months ago Warner Bros announced release dates for a load of DC Comics movies, but other than Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice in 2016, it didn’t say exactly which superheroes would appear in which movies.
Judd Apatow’s Trainwreck may have a fairly little known name at its centre – Amy Schumer – but the director is ensuring there are more interesting names around her. Already cast are Bill Hader, Brie Larson and Colin Quinn.
