After some fruitless searching he heads for the police, which turns out to be a bad idea when they turn on him.

He soon discovers his father (Bruce Willis) was actually a CIA agent and may have been involved in some dodgy dealings involving a suitcase. Now some people want that suitcase back, but there’s no way for Will to tell who’s good, who’s bad and what course of action might get his family back. Man Of Steel Teaser Trailers – First look at Zack Snyder’s take on Superman

July 21, 2012 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

Two different Man Of Steel teaser trailers debuted ahead of The Dark Knight Rises on Friday and now both of those have popped up online, and you can watch them here! It certainly suggests a new, grittier, more elegiac feel for as Superman movie, which perhaps isn’t surprising ans Chris Nolan is producing (with Zack Snyder directing). It’s mainly build-up with little special effects, but a nice debut for the film nonetheless, and shows us that this Clark Kent is going to be hiding from his destiny. Take a look at them both and see which you prefer. They are pretty similar, but with different voiceovers – one from Kevin Costner as Superman’s earthly father and the other with Russell Crowe as his alien daddy! As well as Henry Cavill as Superman the movie stars Amy Adams, Diane Lane, Laurence Fishburne, and Michael Shannon as General Zod. Man Of Steel hits cinemas on June 14th, 2013.

Man Of Steel Gets Broody In Comic-Con Poster

July 15, 2012 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

It’s certainly been all go at Comic-Con, with all sorts of big superhero movie news emerging. Attendees at the San Diego event got to see the first proper footage from Zack Snyder’s new take on Superman, called Man Of Steel, with THR reporting that the scenes of Henry Cavill as the superhero were received so well they even moved one fan to tears.

Hopefully the footage will be released online soon, but for now we just have reports that suggest this Superman is grittier and more in line with the way Chris Nolan (who’s producing Man Of Steel) has presented his Batman trilogy.

During the film’s panel, Snyder suggested this really is a complete overhaul, saying, “We had to act as if no [previous] film has been made. When we approached it, we had to say ‘this is Superman for the first time’.”

He failed to confirm is General Zod was the villain, merely stating the filmmakers “have great respect for the canon and the mythology of Superman…it’s a mashing of stories.”

He also hedged on whether Man Of Steel would tie into a planned Justice League movie, saying “Let’s say this: We know that Superman is the jewel in the DC crown. We wanted to get this house in order. And then…who knows what’s possible?”

Benjamin Walker Climbs Ed Zwick’s The Great Wall

June 11, 2012 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

Benjamin Walker may become a breakout star in a few weeks, thanks to playing the title role in Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter. He’s already booked a follow-up, as Variety reports that Walker has joined the cast of The Great Wall, alongside the previously cast Henry Cavill, for director Edward Zwick.

The film revolves around the mystery of why The Great Wall of China was built. Although the Great Wall was initially constructed over 2,000 years ago, when there were a distinct lack of white people in China for Cavill and Walker to play, the film will look at the Wall in the 15th Century, when the most famous, iconic stone parts of the Great Wall were erected. The movie sees a group of British warriors arrive in China just as the wall is being hurriedly reinforced and lengthened. It’s not just to keep the mongols out, as there’s something otherworldly the Chinese are trying to keep at bay, which emerges after nightfall.

Edward Zwick is directing from a screenplay he co-wrote with Marshall Herskovitz, based on an original idea by Legendary Pictures executive Thomas Tull and World War Z author Max Brooks. it isn’t known when it might shoot.

There’s a lot of people waiting for the first footage from Man Of Steel to try and give a hint at what feel the movie is going for. With Chris Nolan producing, will it have the grit of Dark Knight or will Zack Snyder’s comic book action fireworks trump that?

While there’s no footage yet, a new official logo has been unveiled, which seems slightly in between the Nolan and Snyder aesthetics. Take a look above. After being pushed back from this Christmas, Man Of Steel in now due in cinemas June 2013.

Henry Cavill Climbs Ed Zwick’s Great Wall

February 10, 2012 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

Henry Cavill’s star is set to soar later this year when he stars as Superman in Man Of Steel. He’s already setting up his follow-up projects, with Variety reporting that he’s in talks to star in The Great Wall for director Edward Zwick.

News of the project first emerged last August, as it’s is the first project to be developed under Legendary Pictures’ new Legendary East banner, which hopes to make movies with global appeal but of special interest to Asian audiences. The story centres on how The Great Wall of China was first built and the mysterious circumstances which lead China to construct it. No character details were given for Henry Cavill’s role – and it’ll be interesting to see who he does play, as there weren’t that many white people in China thousands of years ago when the the First Emperor started construction on the wall.

Edward Zwick is directing The Great Wall from a script he is co-writing with Marshall Herskovitz. It isn’t known when production will begin on The Great Wall.

Secret Man Of Steel Cameo For Bradley Cooper?

January 4, 2012 By Movie Muser Leave a Comment

At the moment this should be treated as a rumour that’s likely to turn out to be false, but it’s worth mentioning just in case there’s some truth in it somewhere. If it is true, it’s also a bit of a SPOILER, so if you don’t want to know, stop reading now.

With Paradise Lost getting delayed (and possibly cancelled) Bradley Cooper is rumored to have joined the Superman: Man of Steel cast for a very intriguing cameo role. However while Comic Book News says it’s happening, it hasn’t been confirmed (or denied).

According to this new rumour, Cooper is coming in to play Lex Luthor. The villain is known to have been in early versions of the Man Of Steel scripts, but was removed, leaving General Zob as the main bad guy. Now it’s being said that he’ll turning up briefly in the movie, setting up Lex to be a major player in any sequels.

As mentioned, treat this as rumour for now, but it could be quite cool if it does happen.

Gratuitous Shirtlessness: The Men Of Immortals

November 17, 2011 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

The reviews for Immortals may not exactly have been kind (it currently stands at a rather measly 36% on Rotten Tomatoes), but there’s little doubt that there’s plenty of very pretty man-flesh on display. As in 300, the film shows us that ancient Greek time, men had an aversion to wearing clothes, and were all ridiculously buff! It may not be historically accurate, but it’s sure pretty. Immortals, starring future Superman Henry Cavill, alongside Kellan Lutz, Luke Evans, Mickey Rourke, and Stephen Dorff, is in cinemas now – but if you just fancy ogling the pecs, take a look below (click on the images to enlarge).
