Halle Berry & James Marsden Wanted For X-Men: Days of Future Past

December 6, 2012 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

If all goes to plan, there are going to be a hell of a lot of superheroes in X-Men: Days Of Future Past. We already knew the First Class mutants would be meeting up with Ian McKellen, Patrick Stewart & possibly Hugh Jackman from the earlier X-Men movies, but now THR reports that Halle Berry, James Marsden and others are being sought too.

It isn’t clear if Fox has issued proper offers to the actors, although the THR story suggest others earlier X-Men are being contacted too to see if they can becomes part of the movie, although we don’t know which ones. There is said to be a lot of ‘willingness to participate’ now that director Bryan Singer has returned to the director’s chair.

So don’t be surprised if we hear the likes of Anna Paquin, Rebecca Romijn and Ben Foster are returning in the the next few weeks. Bryan Singer is directing from a screenplay by Simon Kinberg, with Matthew Vaughn still attached as a producer, despite dropping out as the director.

Five Clips From Les Miserables Debut – Can you hear the movie stars sing?

December 3, 2012 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

It’s not too long now until Les Miserables hits cinemas – it’s released Christmas Day in the US and January 11th – and it’s already got loads of Oscar buzz, with the likes of Anne Hathaway and Hugh Jackman emerging as early favourites for the acting Oscars, with many suggesting Tom Hooper could be getting his second Best Director Academy Awards.

To help increase the hype, five new clips have been released of the famed songs from the musical, including On My Own, At The End Of The Day and A Heart Full of Love. So get you fill of the likes of Hathaway, Jackman and Russell Crowe warbling away in what looks like it should be an excellent movie.

Here’s the synopsis: ‘Les Misérables is the motion-picture adaptation of the beloved global stage sensation seen by more than 60 million people in 42 countries and in 21 languages around the globe and still breaking box-office records everywhere in its 27th year. Helmed by The King’s Speech’s Academy Award®-winning director, Tom Hooper, the Working Title/Cameron Mackintosh production stars Hugh Jackman, Oscar® winner Russell Crowe, Anne Hathaway, Amanda Seyfried, Eddie Redmayne, Aaron Tveit, Samantha Barks, with Helena Bonham Carter and Sacha Baron Cohen.

‘Set against the backdrop of 19th-century France, Les Misérables tells an enthralling story of broken dreams and unrequited love, passion, sacrifice and redemption—a timeless testament to the survival of the human spirit. Jackman plays ex-prisoner Jean Valjean, hunted for decades by the ruthless policeman Javert (Crowe) after he breaks parole. When Valjean agrees to care for factory worker Fantine’s (Hathaway) young daughter, Cosette, their lives change forever.

‘In January 2012, the world’s longest-running musical brings its power to the big screen in Tom Hooper’s sweeping and spectacular interpretation of Victor Hugo’s epic tale. With international superstars and beloved songs—including “I Dreamed a Dream,” “Bring Him Home,” “One Day More” and “On My Own”—Les Misérables, the show of shows, is now reborn as the cinematic musical experience of a lifetime.’

Hugh Jackman May Play Wolverine In X-Men: Days Of Future Past

November 29, 2012 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

Just yesterday it was revealed that Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellen will be back as Professor X and Magneto in X-Men: Days Of Future Past, playing opposite their younger counterparts, James McAvoy and Michael Fassbender. Now comes the news, via THR, that Hugh Jackman is in talks to return as Wolverine for the movie.

Of course, he very briefly turned up in X-Men: First Class, where he gave short shrift to Professor X and Magneto’s attempts to recruit him to their mutant team. He would be an interesting addition to the film, as the plot features time travel, and as Wolverine doesn’t age (or at least does so very slowly) he would look pretty much the same in both timelines.

The story sees the First Class mutants getting involved with time travel in order to prevent a terrifying future from taking place. In the comic book story arc, that future sees mutants being hunted and killed, with the survivors rounded up by Sentinels and kept in concentration camps. However if a key event can be prevented, that won’t happen. Although it hasn’t been confirmed this will be the plot of the movie, it seems likely.

The likes of Nicholas Hoult and Jennifer Lawrence will also return, with shooting scheduled for early next year. Bryan Singer directs, with a July 18th, 2014 release date set.

Gorgeous Annie Liebovitz Les Miserables Images Online

November 13, 2012 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

If you want a gorgeous looking photo, there are few people better to go to than Annie Liebovitz, whose sharp eye rarely goes wrong. She also has a great way of making things look classic and romantic, so she’s the perfect person to shoot a series of portraits for the upcoming Les Miserables, which she photographed for Vogue and are now online.

They are beautiful pictures and hopefully Tom Hooper’s movie will look just as good.

Here’s the film’s synopsis: ‘Les Misérables is the motion-picture adaptation of the beloved global stage sensation seen by more than 60 million people in 42 countries and in 21 languages around the globe and still breaking box-office records everywhere in its 27th year. Helmed by The King’s Speech’s Academy Award®-winning director, Tom Hooper, the Working Title/Cameron Mackintosh production stars Hugh Jackman, Oscar® winner Russell Crowe, Anne Hathaway, Amanda Seyfried, Eddie Redmayne, Aaron Tveit, Samantha Barks, with Helena Bonham Carter and Sacha Baron Cohen.

New UK Les Miserables Trailer – Can you hear Russell Crowe sing?

November 9, 2012 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

It seems the film version of Les Miserables will feature more dialogue than the almost completely sung stage version, as evidenced in this trailer – although there’s still plenty of singing going on, including our first chance to hear Russell Crowe flexing his pipes and Javert.

Here’s the synopsis: ‘Les Misérables is the motion-picture adaptation of the beloved global stage sensation seen by more than 60 million people in 42 countries and in 21 languages around the globe and still breaking box-office records everywhere in its 27th year. Wolverine Teaser Poster Unveiled, Plus Take A Look At the Livechat From The Set

October 30, 2012 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

The Wolverine has been shooting for a while now, and to get fans excited, Fox has released a pretty cool first teaser poster, as well as getting Hugh Jackman and director James Mangold together on the set for a live webchat.

You can watch that chat below, although don’t expect many massive revelations, as they mainly talk about things that have already been revealed, such as that it will be set after all the other X-Men movies. However there are a few interesting nuggets, such as that while it’s always appeared Wolverine can’t be hurt, we’ll learn what his “kryptonite” is, and that The Outlaw Josey Wales was a big influence on this film as he likes that it’s a concise way of immediately setting a character up on a journey of loss, rage and revenge.

Take a look at the chat below.

Which X-Man Is Rumoured For A Wolverine Cameo?

October 22, 2012 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

Okay, we’d better start off with a spoiler warning, as if you want everything about The Wolverine to be a surprise, stop reading now, but if you want to know which of the X-Men from the Bryan Singer film series might be appearing in the upcoming movie, keep reading.

The Wolverine has been in production for quite a few weeks now down in Australia, and all we’ve heard so far is that it will be a stand alone movie that sees Hugh Jackman’s adamantium skeletoned mutant heading to Japan. However We Got This Covered says the movie may have some crossover to earlier X-Men films, as they report Famke Janssen headed Down Under last week and headed to the set to shoot a cameo.

While we saw what we presumed was the first meeting between Famke’s Jean Grey and Jackman’s Wolverine in X-Men, it’s possible they had met before and memory challenged Wolverine simply can’t remember it. However it’s also possible this rumour is untrue or that Janssen wasn’t in Australia for The Wolverine.

She’s also been rumoured for a cameo in X-Men: Days Of Future Past, as part of the time-travel elements of that film, and a Wolverine cameo may be part of Fox’s attempts to make their various superhero properties more like Marvel’s interconnected universe. We’ll have to wait and see if she does pop up in The Wolverine when it’s released next July.

October 9, 2012 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

Paul Dano is currently seeing success in Looper, and now he’s got another role in a major movie, as he has signed on to star in Prisoners for director Denis Villeneuve, according to Variety.

Hugh Jackman is already set to play a small town carpenter whose life is torn apart when his daughter and her friend are kidnapped. He clashes with Detective Loki (Jake Gyllenhaal), a big city cop who has been assigned to the case. At the moment not much is known about Paul Dano’s character.

Denis Villeneuve is directing from a Black Listed screenplay by Aaron Guzikowski (Contraband), with shooting set to begin in early 2013.
