Often bringing child actors into franchises can be cheesy, but Ty Simpkins was a great little addition to Iron Man 3. It was obviously a good showcase for the young actor, as the 12-year-old has signed on for a lead role in Jurassic World, according to Deadline.
New Girl and Drinking Buddies star Jake Johnson is said to be in contention for an unspecified role, although the studio has not confirmed his possible involvement. If he signs on, the actor will reunite with his Safety Not Guaranteed director Colin Trevorrow. A few weeks ago it was revealed that Bryce Dallas Howard is in talks for the film, and it appears she still hasn’t signed on the dotted line.
The film will apparently take us back to the original Jurassic Park island, which is now a working theme park with real-life dinosaurs. The film is due for release on June 12th, 2015.
