Gay cinema fans will know Belgium’s Jelle Florizoone as the actor at the centre of the excellent North Sea Texas, playing a young teenager exploring her sexuality and becoming enamoured with a suave, older biker who briefly rents a room in his mother’s house. That was a few years ago though, as Jelle is now 20, officially out as gay, and says he’s, “Finally happy”.
In his native country, Jelle is also known for the children’s TV show ROX, and he starred in the gay-themed short film Headlong (alongside North Sea Texas co-star Thomas Coumans), which featured on the Boys On Film X DVD.
The actor is also keen to show off his Egyptian boyfriend, Amir, who he met not too long after the end of a two-year relationship. He told Het Laatste Nieuwswith, that, “A breakup is never fun, but I’m still young and that’s part of life. Life is a learning process with ups-and-downs. Of course I hope that road will be smooth, but that is unfortunately not the case. I learned from my previous relationship, because I have made mistakes.”
He adds, “I’m attracted to dark-haired types because I’m blonde. But I particularly like people with a story. Sure you first look at the outward appearance, but the difference between a flirt and a relationship has to be the content.”
Floorizoone certainly seems pleased, tweeting, ‘Pretty happy with this article. The word is out. #finallyhappy‘ He’s also shared a few great pics of him with his hottie boyfriend on Instagram. Take a look below. (Thanks to Attitude for the tip) [Read more…]
