With her Hunger Games and X-Men duties nearly wrapped up (unless she signs up for more, of course), Jennifer Lawrence is a free agent and has been lining up a variety of projects to star in. Now she’s got another, with Variety reporting she’s set to appear in The Rosie Project.
The film is ‘based on the Graeme Simsion novel, [and] centers on a socially awkward genetics professor who devises a science-based survey to find the perfect mate – only to see those theories splintered when he meets the spontaneous Rosie Jarman, who possesses the opposite qualities. Scott Neustadter and Michael Weber, who teamed on ‘(500) Days of Summer,’ have revised Simsion’s adaptation of the novel.’
In the book the scientist has a 16-page survey to help him find his wife – something that understandably makes women a little wary of him. However he becomes intrigued by Rosie’s quest to find her biological father.
A director is currently being sought (Phil Lord and Christopher Miller were attached, but have dropped out to concentrate on the recently confirmed Han Solo origins Star Wars movie).
