For a couple of years now, Al Pacino has been attached to star in the dramedy Imagine, but the project has been continually delayed. Now it looks like it’s ready to movie forward, with TheWrap reporting that Wackness and Red Dawn star Josh Peck has joined the growing cast of the film.
Inspired by a true story, Imagine is about an aging musician (Pacino) who discovers an old letter written to him by John Lennon, urging him to leave his rock star ways behind him and bond with the son he never met. Bobby Cannavale is playing the son, Jennifer Garner will be Pacino’s daughter-in-law, with Annette Bening as the rocker’s love interest, and Michael Caine as his longtime manager. Peck will be a hotel valet who Pacino urges to pursue the girl of his dreams.
Dan Fogelman (Crazy, Stupid, Love) is set to direct, with shooting set to kick off in the next couple of months.
