Muppets Most Wanted Music Trailer – Kermit & co. are doing a sequel

It seems we’ve been waiting ages for Muppets Most Wanted, but now it’s close to release and to celebrate that Disney has released a new trailer, featuring a song all about doing a sequel. It’s a lot of fun, and the song must have been written a long time ago, as it suggests it was penned back when the film was still called The Muppets… Again!

Here’s the synopsis: ‘Following on from 2011’s smash-hit The Muppets, all your favourite characters are back in a hilarious all-new spy thriller adventure in Disney’s MUPPETS MOST WANTED, hitting cinemas March 28th, 2014. Packed with celebrity cameos and featuring star turns from Ricky Gervais, Tiny Fey and Ty Burrell, MUPPETS MOST WANTED takes the entire Muppets gang on a global tour, including stops in Berlin, Madrid, Dublin and London. But mayhem follows them overseas as they find themselves unwittingly entangled in an international crime caper headed by Constantine, the World’s Number One Criminal, and dead-ringer for Kermit.

‘Disney’s MUPPETS MOST WANTED is directed by James Bobin and produced by David Hoberman and Todd Lieberman. Bobin co-wrote the screenplay with Nicholas Stoller, who is also executive producer with John G. Scotti. Tina Fey Will Do The Taliban Shuffle In A New Dark Comedy

Tina Fey has a new movie up her sleeve as she’s set to team up with Paramount to star in and produce an adaptation of Kim Barker’s non-fiction book, The Taliban Shuffle, according to TheWrap. It’s a project that will allow the actress to flex her acting muscles in more serious directions, while also keeping the comedy.

Kim Barker’s memoir follows her after she ‘first arrived in Kabul as a journalist in 2002, she barely owned a passport, spoke only English and had little idea how to do the Taliban Shuffle between Afghanistan and Pakistan. No matter-her stories about Islamic militants and shaky reconstruction were soon overshadowed by the bigger news in Iraq. But as she delved deeper into Pakistan and Afghanistan, her love for the hapless countries grew, along with her fear for their future stability. In this darkly comic and unsparing memoir, Barker uses her wry, incisive voice to expose the absurdities and tragedies of the ‘forgotten war,’ finding humor and humanity amid the rubble and heartbreak.’

Fey is obviously keen on the material as she optioned the book herself, as well as setting frequent collaborator Robert Carlock (Saturday Night Live, 30 Rock) to write the screenplay adaptation.

Muppets Most Wanted Extended Super Bowl Spot – Tina Fey and a lot of felty madness

Muppets Most Wanted, is due in UK cinemas on 28th March 2014 (and a week earlier in the US). With only a few weeks to go, Disney forked out for a Super Bowl spot for the movie and have released an extended version online, which you can watch right here.

Here’s the synopsis: ‘The Muppets are back! And this time they are taking on the world in an exciting and hilarious new spy thriller that will take you on a whirlwind adventure of mistaken identity, dastardly sidekicks and double dealing doppelgangers. Featuring star turns from Ricky Gervais, Tina Fey and Ty Burrell, and packed with celebrity cameos, MUPPETS MOST WANTED takes the entire gang on a global tour including stops in Berlin, Madrid, Dublin and London. The Muppets are back soon with Muppets Most Wanted, and now we get our best taste of the movie yet with a full trailer for the flick.

Here’s the synopsis: ‘Disney’s “Muppets Most Wanted” takes the entire Muppets gang on a global tour, selling out grand theaters in some of Europe’s most exciting destinations, including Berlin, Madrid and London. I’ve never quite worked out why Comedy Central shows 30 Rock in the way they do in the UK, where we tend to get it in half season chunks (sometimes with the second half of one season and the beginning of another shoved together). It means that while 30 Rock – Season 6 ended in May 2012 in the US, it’s only just come to a conclusion on British TV, and so now we can get the 22 episodes on DVD. [Read more…]

Tom Hiddleston Joins The Muppets…Again!

The Muppets…Again! may have been shooting for several weeks, but it’s never too late to add a cameo – indeed we’ve been promised quite a few in the movie. The latest to join is Tom Hiddleston, who according to the MuppetHenson blog, has landed a small role in the movie.

While Disney owns both The Muppets and Marvel, he’s not playing Loki in the film, although that would have been oddly awesome. According to Hiddleston’s online CV, he’s playing someone called The Great Escapo, who is presumably a magician, although we don’t know exactly how he’ll fit into the movie.

Jane Fonda In Talks For This Is Where I Leave You

jane-fonda Since the late 80s, Jane Fonda has only made sporadic on-screen appearances, but she’s now planing a relatively rare movie appearance, as Deadline reports that she’s in talks to join Jason Bateman,Tina Fey and Corey Stoll in This Is Where I Leave You.

Shawn Levy – who directed Fey in Date Night – is set to direct the movie, based on Tropper’s own screenplay adaptation of his book.

Tina Fey Says This Is Where I Leave You Opposite Jason Bateman

With 30 Rock coming to an end, Tina Fey has a lot more time on her hands, and so she’s been busy working her way through scripts to find the ones she wants to make. She’s currently shooting The Muppets… Again, but that doesn’t mean she isn’t also looking to the future, as THR reports that she’s now in talks to join Jason Bateman in This Is Where I Leave You.

The film is an adaptation of the Jonathan Tropper comic novel about four siblings who come home to sit ‘shiva’ for their deceased father. They are trapped in the house for seven days, and all their skeletons are laid bare. While Zac Efron, Goldie Hawn and Leslie Mann were previously attached, it doesn’t seem they’re involved anymore, with Kathryn Hahn likely to be Bateman’s sister-in-law, while Ari Graynor, Isla Fisher, Zoe Saldana and Mary Elizabeth Winstead have all read for roles.

Shawn Levy – who directed Fey in Date Night – recently signed up to direct the movie, although it’s not 100% clear when it might shoot.

Tina Fey Up For The Nest, With Pitch Perfect Helmer Jason Moore In Talks To Direct

Now that 30 Rock has ended in the States, Tina Fey has some more time on her hands. She’s already mentioned the idea of turning her script for Mean Girls into a musical and now she’s is in talks to star in and produce the Universal Pictures comedy The Nest, with Pitch Perfect director Jason Moore in negotiations to take the helm.

The movie is about two thirtysomething sisters who discover that their parents are selling their childhood home. They spend one final weekend together in the house, bonding and feuding before realising thhat they both need to grow up. Tina Fey will play one of the sisters, although the other has not been cast yet.

Paula Pell, who served as a writer on 30 Rock and Saturday Night Live, wrote the screenplay. It hasn’t been revealed when the film will shoot, but it is believed that this will be the next project for both Tina Fey and filmmaker Jason Moore. (Source: Deadline)
