Minions Trailer – Gru’s little yellow friends are getting their own movie

November 4, 2014 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

minions-pic1Without the Minions, there’s a good chance Despicable Me wouldn’t have been the hit it was. If nothing else they’ve been a massive merchandising bonanza, so it’s not too much of a shock that the small, yellow oblongs are getting their own film.

Now the first trailer has arrived which you can take a look at below.

Here’s the synopsis: ‘The story of Universal Pictures and Illumination Entertainment’sMinionsbegins at the dawn of time. Starting as single-celled yellow organisms, Minions evolve through the ages, perpetually serving the most despicable of masters. Continuously unsuccessful at keeping these masters – from T. rex to Napoleon – the Minions find themselves without someone to serve and fall into a deep depression.

‘But one Minion named Kevin has a plan, and he – alongside teenage rebel Stuart and lovable little Bob – ventures out into the world to find a new evil boss for his brethren to follow.

‘The trio embarks upon a thrilling journey that ultimately leads them to their next potential master, Scarlet Overkill (Academy Award®winner Sandra Bullock), the world’s first-ever female super-villain. They travel from frigid Antarctica to 1960s New York City, ending in mod London, where they must face their biggest challenge to date: saving all of Minionkind…from annihilation.

‘Featuring a soundtrack of hit music from the ’60s that still permeates our culture today,Minionsis produced by Illumination’s Chris Meledandri and Janet Healy, and is directed by Pierre Coffin and Kyle Balda. Brian Lynch has written the screenplay for the 3D-CG comedy adventure, and Chris Renaud serves as executive producer of the film.’

The movie is due out June 2015. [Read more…]

March 20, 2013 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

Gru may have stopped trying to be a supervillain, but that doesn’t mean his problems are over, as revealed in this fun, zippy new trailer, where he essentially gets kidnapped by The Anti Villain League, who want his help.

Here’s the synopsis: ‘Universal Pictures and Illumination Entertainment’s worldwide blockbuster, Despicable Me, delighted audiences around the globe in 2010, grossing more than $540 million and becoming the 10th-biggest animated motion picture in U.S. history. In Summer 2013, get ready for more minion madness in Despicable Me 2. Chris Meledandri and his acclaimed filmmaking team create an all-new comedy animated adventure featuring the return of Gru (Steve Carell), the girls, the unpredictably hilarious minions…and a host of new and outrageously funny characters.’

It’s out in the UK on June 28th and in the US on July 3rd. Take a look at the new poster below and the trailer above.

November 1, 2012 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

Despicable Me was an unexpected treat when it arrived in cinemas in 2012, so the idea of a sequel in more than welcome. It’s due in cinemas June 2013, and now a new trailer for the movie has arrived, suggesting there’s plenty more drama for Gru and his minions to deal with. Something seems keen to steal the minions, which just isn’t right! Unsurprisingly the trailer concentrates on the little yellow creatures, who’ve proved so popular they’re also getting their own spin-off film.

New Dr. Seuss’ The Lorax Trailer

December 7, 2011 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

The first promos and pics for Dr. Seuss’ The Lorax made the movie look a bit, well, rubbish, but this new trailer is a whole lot more fun, and suggests it’ll be worth a peek when it hits UK cinemas on July 27th, 2012. Brought to life by the guys behind Despicable Me, the animated adventure follows the journey of a boy as he searches for the one thing that will enable him to win the affection of the girl of his dreams. To find it he must discover the story of the Lorax, a grumpy yet charming creature who fights to protect his world. Danny DeVito lends his vocal talents to the iconic title character of the Lorax, while Ed Helms will voice the enigmatic Once-ler. Also bringing their talents to the film are global superstars Zac Efron as Ted, the idealistic young boy who searches for the Lorax, and Taylor Swift as Ashley, the girl of Ted’s dreams. Rob Riggle will play financial king O’Hare, and beloved actress Betty White will portray Ted’s wise Grammy Norma.

A Look Inside: The Lorax

November 29, 2011 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

It’s not out until next Summer, but Universal wants us to get acquainted with The Lorax, probably because despite coming from the mind of Dr. Seuss, he’s not quite as well known over here in the UK as he is in the US. Now a new featurette has arrived to help us get to know the small furball. The animated adventure follows the journey of a boy as he searches for the one thing that will enable him to win the affection of the girl of his dreams. Dr Seuss’s The Lorax Trailer

October 31, 2011 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

I’m presuming The Lorax is a lot more famous in the US that he is in the UK, because this trailer does seem to assume we already know all about him, but it doesn’t spoil the enjoyment of stepping into this very colourful world, brought to life by the guys behind Despicable Me. The animated adventure follows the journey of a boy as he searches for the one thing that will enable him to win the affection of the girl of his dreams.
