What’s better than one David Tennant? Well, if you’re a fan, two of him! Although 2009’s semi-improvised Nativity, starring Martin Freeman and Ashley Jensen, wasn’t the biggest hit ever, it did well enough to warrant a sequel, which recently started shooting.
Now Variety has revealed that this follow-up will see Tennant play twin primary school teachers at rival schools, each put together a Christmastime performance. One of the brothers leads a group of underachieving kids to put on a Nativity play in a national competition, while the other twin, whose always been a bit of a golden boy, is in charge of a posh school’s play.
Debbie Issitt will once more direct, with film taking place now in the Midlands and North Wales.
