Megan Mullally gained legions of fans as Karen in Will & Grace, but she’s mainly made do with supporting roles that haven’t really shown he full talents. Now THR reports that she and another larger than life scene-stealer, Jennifer Coolidge, have signed up for Alexander And The Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day.
Steve Carell and Jennifer Garner are already cast in the film, based on Judith Viorst’s 1972 children’s book, which focuses on Alexander (newcomer Ed Oxenbould), a young boy who wakes up with gum in his hair, and as the title suggest, his day gets progressively worse and worse. Steve Carell is set to play Alexander’s father, with Garner as his mother.
There’s no news on how Mullally and Coolidge will fit into the film.
Miguel Arteta directs, based on a script by Rob Lieber, with Disney backing the movie.
