March 5, 2014 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

A trailer for Sin City: A Dame To Kill For is coming very soon, but ahead of that we’ve got three images from the long-awaited sequel, featuring Jessica Alba, Mickey Rourke and Joseph-Gordon Levitt.

Here’s the synopsis: ‘Nine years after the box-office smash SIN CITY, the stories of the notorious city dwellers resume in the hugely anticipated sequel SIN CITY: A DAME TO KILL FOR. sin-city-dame2
Boasting an all-star cast led by Joseph Gordon-Levitt (Inception, The Dark Knight Rises), Eva Green (Dark Shadows), Juno Temple (Killer Joe), Jessica Alba (Sin City, Fantastic Four), Bruce Willis (Looper) and Josh Brolin (Old Boy), this next installment promises to take audiences on a visceral ride into the twisted minds of Frank Miller’s unforgettable characters.

‘Co-directors Robert Rodriguez and Frank Miller reunite to bring Miller’s visually stunning “Sin City” graphic novels back to the screen in SIN CITY: A DAME TO KILL FOR. Weaving together two of Miller’s classic stories with new tales, the town’s most hard boiled citizens cross paths with some of its more reviled inhabitants. SIN CITY: A DAME TO KILL FOR is the follow-up to Rodriguez and Miller’s 2005 ground-breaking film, FRANK MILLER’S SIN CITY.

‘Lionsgate UK will release SIN CITY: A DAME TO KILL FOR in UK cinemas nationwide on 29 August 2014’

It’s eight years since Sin City was released, and ever since then we’ve been promised a follow-up. It’s certainly taken its time, and even after filming took place, it’s still been quite a wait, and indeed we won’t be getting to see it until next August.

However now the first official poster has arrived, which doesn’t exactly give us a lot of information, other than that it’s got a great cast.

The sequel features the return of Sin City stars Mickey Rourke, Jessica Alba, Bruce Willis and Rosario Dawson, along with newcomers such as Jamie Chung, Alexa Vega and Joseph Gordon-Levitt. A first trailer is expected soon.

It is bizarre that a movie that started out as a fake trailer in Quentin Tarantino and Robert Rodriguez’s double-feature, Grindhouse as spawned a sequel and proved far more popular than the movie that introduced us to it. Machete Kills hits cinemas later this month and now a new UK quad poster has emerged, which you can see above.

In the movie, Machete is called on by the President to stop a Billionaire (Gibson) who’s planning to launch a missile into space.

Danny Trejo, Charlie Sheen, Mel Gibson, Cuba Gooding Jr., Demián Bichir, Michelle Rodriguez, Lady Gaga, Sofia Vergara, Amber Heard, Jessica Alba, Alexa Vega, Vanessa Hudgens, William Sadler, and Antonio Banderas star, with Robert Rodriguez directing.

Sin City 2 Reveals Josh Brolin As Dwight In New Pics

While many of the Sin City actors are returning for the sequel, one who isn’t is Clive Owen. However with Dwight an important part of the movie, director Robert Rodriguez has drafted in Josh Brolin to play the character.

Now we’ve got our first look at the new Dwight, with Rodriguez tweeting images of Brolin in front of a green-screen, and then in moody black and white as he’ll look in the finished neo-noir movie.

For the image above he tweeted ‘Here’s bad ass Josh Brolin driving a Rodriguez-mobile. (A green box with a steering wheel bolted on)’

And the one below ‘And here’s a quick photo touch up I do to set a tone for the actors. (Probably won’t be raining in final movie) ‘

The film is due out this autumn, with Jamie Chung, Jessica Alba, Alexa Vega, Mickey Rourke, Rosario Dawson, Jaime King, Michael Madsen, Dennis Haysbert starring.

Eva Green Will Play Femme Fatale In Sin City: A Dame to Kill

January 30, 2013 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

Eva-GreenThe cast of Sin City : A Dame To Kill For has been growing almost daily, but one things it’s been lacking is the dame of the title. Now it’s got one as it’s been announced that co-directors Robert Rodriguez and Frank Miller have chosen Eva Green (Dark Shadows, 300: Rise of an Empire, Casino Royale) to star as the film’s deadly muse, Ava Lord.

Ava, the iconic character from Miller’s graphic novel of the same name, is described by Miller as “every man’s most glorious dreams come true, she’s also every man’s darkest nightmares.”

Robert Rodriguez and Frank Miller commented, “We’ve been wanting to tell this story for a very long time. Ava Lord is one of the most deadly and fascinating residents of Sin City. From the start, we knew that the actor would need to be able to embody the multifaceted characteristics of this femme fatale and we found that in Eva Green. We are ecstatic that Eva is joining us.”

Eva Green joining the film rounds out the huge cast that includes original cast members Mickey Rourke as “Marv,” Jessica Alba as “Nancy,” Bruce Willis as “Hartigan”, Rosario Dawson as “Gail” and Jaime King as “Goldie/Wendy” with new cast members Josh Brolin as “Dwight,” Joseph Gordon-Levitt as “Johnny,” Dennis Haysbert as “Manute,” Christopher Meloni as “Mort,” Jeremy Piven as “Bob,” Jamie Chung as “Miho,” Ray Liotta as “Joey,” Juno Temple as “Sally.”

Also joining the cast is Julia Garner, an up-and-comer whose credits include Martha Marcy May Marlene and The Perks of Being a Wallflower. She will play a young stripper opposite Joseph Gordon-Levitt’s Johnny.

Sin City: A Dame to Kill For weaves together two of Miller’s classic stories with new tales in which the town’s most hard boiled citizens cross paths with some of its more repulsive inhabitants.
