Horrible Bosses took $209 million worldwide and only cost $35 million to make, so it’s not that surprising that New Line wants a follow-up. That sequel is now moving forwards, as THR reports that original writers John Francis Daley (aka Dr. Sweets from TV’s Bones) and Jonathan M. Goldstein have signed deals to write the sequel, with stars Jason Bateman, Charlie Day, and Jason Sudeikis all expected to return.
The studio is also in talks with director Seth Gordon to helm the follow-up. The first film followed three friends (Jason Bateman, Charlie Day, and Jason Sudeikis) who are all sick of being mistreated by their bosses, and band together to kill their employers, one by one. There’s no news on the story for the sequel, although let’s hope the guys don’t just get a bunch of new asshole bosses who need killing.
It isn’t known when New Line is aiming to get this sequel into production, but it seems that all of the pieces are falling into place.
