Not long after the mini-series Lost In Austen aired in the UK in 2008 it was snapped up by Hollywood producers for a Tinsel Town version. However we haven’t heard much about it since then – until now, that is. Sony Pictures has managed to snag chick flick maestro Nora Ephron (Sleepless In Seattle, You’ve Got Mail) to write and direct the movie.
Lost in Austen tells the tale of a modern-day woman who is a passionate fan of Jane Austen. She somehow finds herself swapping places with the fictional Elizabeth Bennett from Pride & Prejudice.
Nora Ephron is writing the screenplay for Lost in Austen, based on Guy Andrews’ mini-series script. Sam Mendes and Pippa Harris will produce. It will be Ephron frst film since 2009’s Julie & Julia. (Source: Variety)
