Over the last few years, The Gaywise FESTival, more popularly known as GFEST, has becomes one of the UK’s leading LGBTQI focused arts festivals, covering various cultural and art forms from exhibitions, group and solo performances to film screenings, debates, creative workshops and parties.
This year’s festival takes place in venues across London from November 12th to 24th, and it’s now opened its call for submissions. The theme for the 2012 festival is ‘Queer Art queries’, with submissions being sought in three categories: films, visual arts and performance.
Niranjan Kamatkar, artistic director of GFEST commented, “This year we want to address and question the issues and challenges that our community faces on a daily basis. We hope to encourage artists to work together on exciting, thought provoking and innovative work. We want to query what happens in the queer arts world.”
If you have something you feel is worth submitting in any of the categories, head over to the GFEST website to find out more. The deadline for submissions is Friday June 29th, 2012.
