The web series Youthful Daze is well into its Second Season but it’s still got a few surprised in store, as in the latest episode it’s been revealed that one of the lead characters is gay.
As the press release says, ‘It’s a new school year at Westfield Prep, and when Tommy Dinato (Ethan Daniel Corbett) comes back to town, it’s clear that he has a past with Drew Castle (Bryan James). Not until a heated argument turns into a heated make out session do we learn that their history is a romantic one. No one knows about their relationship or the fact that either of them might be gay. But since the whole thing is caught on a camera phone, their secret might not be safe for long. The storyline continues with new episodes every Sunday night on www.YouthfulDaze.com.’
Creator Bryan James comments, “Creating and expanding a teen drama series world into a larger scope for season two it only seemed logical to develop story lines that could reach a wider audience and to tell stories that are powerful about love in all forms. Everyone on Youthful Daze is committed to telling long term storylines about love that exists between male characters. We hope the audience will embrace the show and enjoy all aspects of the series. It is time for more good shows to become easily available to a under served demographic that does not pander to or label it’s gay characters as supporting parts with little to do and tells gay storylines front and center the same in a genre that should showcase the straight storylines and the gay ones with no hang ups or discrimination in execution. We are a soap opera that has something for everyone.”
