The new SpongeBob Squarepants Movie certainly looks bizarre – but then anyone who’s ever watched the often rather surreal TV show wouldn’t expect anything else.
Now a new trailer and poster have arrived, which you can see above and below.
As you can see, while the underwater world is still animated, above the waves things turn live-action and then SpongeBob and co. turn into CGI superheroes. After all, what else would happen? It looks like it could be a lot of fun, and with all the original voice cast returning it will hopefully keep the spirit of the original toon.
The 3D movie is due out in the UK March 20th, 2015.
