Even though I’m based in the UK and therefore not privy to the full day-to-day back and forth of the US Presidential campaigns, I can’t say I’m surprised a laundry list of well-known LGBT Americans have stepped up to support Obama. After all, he repealed Don’t Ask Don’t Tell and has come out in support of equal marriage, while the motto of the Republican campaign basically seems to be ‘Equality and fairness for all (except if you’re not a white, middle class, heterosexual man)’.
In the video the likes of Jane Lynch, Jesse Tyler Ferguson, Billie Jean King, George Takei, Wanda Sykes, Zachary Quinto, and Chaz Bono talk about the problems they’ve faced, as well as their support for a President they feel is really making a difference in people’s lives.
I might not be allowed to vote in the US Election, but I’m sure Obama will be pleased to know I’d vote for him too if I could.
