Matt Bomer is part of a great ensemble who’ve got together for Akiva Goldsman’s directorial debut, A Winter’s Tale, including Colin Farrell, Jessica Brown Findlay, Russell Crowe, Jennifer Connelly, William Hurt, Eva Marie Saint and Kevin Corrigan, with Will Smith also rumoured for a cameo.
The film is now shooting and Filmofilia has gotten hold of some shots from the set, including out first look at the openly gay Bomer getting all togged up in period suit and tie, as well as rocking a beard that may not be his greatest look ever.
Based on Mark Helprin’s novel, A Winter’s Tale is set in both the present day and the late 19th century, and centres on a thief (Farrell) who falls in love with the Irish heiress (Jessica Brown Findlay) he just robbed, right before she dies. He later learns that he possesses the gift of reincarnation, and becomes determined to save her life.
Bomer is set to play the thief’s father (which is slightly odd as he’s actually younger than Farrell, but we’ll have to wait and see how it works).
