Gay Porn Star Johnny Hazzard Going Legit With Indie Movie Where We Belong

While Hollywood lore says many of those who end up in porn originally wanted to be legit actors, until recently it’s been virtually impossible to go from porn to proper films (with occasional exceptions such as Traci Lords). However straight porn actor James Deen recently made The Canyons with Lindsay Lohan, while gay hardcore star Brent Corrigan has appeared in legit LGBT-themed films such as Judas Kiss and The Big Gay Musical.

Now another gay porn actor is branching out – Johnny Hazzard. Under his real name, Frankie Valenti, he’s starring in the upcoming LGBT themed movie, Where We Belong. The film, from director Wade Gasque, is now looking for at least $15,000 funding on Kickstarter, with the hope of raising $30,000 or above to get the movie completely finished.

Roughly half of the movie has been shot, with the plan being to complete filming in June, once they’ve got some more cash.

So what’s it about? Well, the Kickstarter tells us, ‘Where We Belong is an intimate drama that explores the unique dynamic between two wildly different gay brothers. Younger brother Todd (Frankie Valenti) ran away at eighteen and never looked back while older brother Chet (Mark Strano) quietly assumed the burden of prodigal son. They are never able to really connect with one another until Dad dies. It speaks volumes about the tremendous force he had (and still has) over them and the internalized shame they both carry as a result. With our pride parades and general acceptance by the mainstream, why is telling Dad still so hard?’
