With Dear John, The Last Song, The Last One and Safe Haven, Hollywood has certainly liked adapting Nicholas Sparks novels recently, even if the box office returns have been a bit unpredictable. Now another one is coming in the form of The Best Of Me, which THR reports has just found its leading lady in the form of Michelle Monaghan.
The film is about, ‘a pair of former high school sweethearts who reunite after many years when they both return to their small North Carolina hometown.’ They come back for a funeral but find their passions still run deep.
Michael Hoffman (Gambit, The Last Station) is set to direct. Warner Bros was originally set to back the film, but Relativity has since taken over those duties.
