We’ve been slightly neglecting the short films we post on BGPS for the last couple of weeks, but now they’re back with Alone With People, which to make up for the lack of posts is a chunky 25 minutes long.
So what’s it about?
Here’s the synopsis: ‘Growing up gay in the South, a high school girl seeks the help of a therapist to come out to her family and friends in this hilarious and touching coming-of-gay story.’
It’s fun and honest, and handles the feelings of depression a gay teen can have extremely well. It never layers on the melodrama too much and has plenty of moments of genuine wit, as well as a good cast.
The multi-awardwinning short was written by and stars Girl Code’s Quinn Marcus, with Drew Van Steenbergen directing. You can take a look at it below.
