In many part of the gay world, saying you’re over 40 feels pretty similar to revealing that you’re actually dead, but of course that’s far from true (yes, 20-somethings, you don’t suddenly cease to exist when you pass you get older). The rom-com Please Don’t Eat The Pansies! wants to take a look at the lives of some 40+ gay people, but its needs some help so it’s launched an Indiegogo campaign in the hope of raising $35,000.
It’s got a great cast, including Mary Wilson of The Supremes, singer/actor Tom Goss, Caroline In The City co-stars Andrew Lauer and Eric Lutes, Mark Cirillo (The Last Straight Man, The Seminarian), writer/actor Ronnie Kerr (Saltwater, Shut Up & Kiss Me) and Chip Coffey. Ronnie Kerr also co-wrote the movie alongside its director, Craig Campobasso.
As well as the cast members already mentioned, Don’t Feed The Pansies! features Pandora Boxx as herself, playing the host of Pandora Boxx’s Pansy Party, where the lives of four gay couple intersect. It’s also promised that the film deals with, ‘issues gay men face over the age of 40: caring for aging parents, dating, marriage, sex and love. Its a farcical romp with a Happy Ending!’
You can take a look at the fundraising video below, and if you like what you see, head over to Indiegogo to help out.
