Back in September 2014 we posted about the fact Lena Dunham was producing a documentary about a New York tailor that specialises in making clothes for trans and genderqueer people. At the time is was called Three Suits, but now it’s changed its name to Suited, and the trailer for the doc, which will air on HBO, has arrived.
The documentary focuses on Bindle & Keep, following several of the company’s transgender clients as they have custom suits made, with tailors and the customer coming together to create bespoke clothing perfect to fit each person’s gender identity and expression. While the staff is largely straight, Bindle & Keep was specifically founded to help those under-served by the fashion industry, which has led them to such things as making clothes for gay weddings and for members of the Orange Is the New Black cast.
The doc, which premiered at Sundance, will air on HBO in the US on June 20th. Take a look at the trailer below.
