First Look At Jamie Foxx As A Blue Electro In Amazing Spider-man 2

April 16, 2013 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

amazing-spider-man-2-electro
The Amazing Spider-man 2 has been shooting for a few weeks now, but it’s only now that Jamie Foxx has been spotted on set in his Electro make-up, and as you can see above and below, he’s looking pretty blue.

Yahoo! has got the pics, which you can see above and below. Although the icy blue look makes sense to outsiders for a character called Electro, fans of the comic book may be less impressed. Indeed, they may start wondering why Mr. Freeze is in a Spider-man movie, especially as in the comics Electro has pink skin but wears a flamboyant star shaped green and yellow mask.

Electro is Max Dillon, a bad guy who gains the ability to control electricity after being struck by lightning. In the comics he can shoot electricity from his fingertips and manipulate electronic devices, although it hasn’t been confirmed what powers he’ll have in the movie.

The Amazing Spider-man 2 is due out May 2nd 2014.

White House Down Trailer – Plus Channing Tatum gets armed for a new poster

March 27, 2013 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

A few years ago Roland Emmerich said he was moving away from epic disaster movies, but his love of destroying iconic landmarks continues unabated, as this trailer for White House Down shows the Capitol Building getting it, amongst others.

The trailer seems deliberately timed to hit just as Olympus Has Fallen arrives in US cinemas, so that audiences can see that while they may both tell a similar story, this one’s going to be on a bigger scale.

Channing Tatum stars as a secret service agent who’s in the White House when a group of terrorists take over. He’s then tasked with guiding the President (Jamie Foxx) to safety. Maggie Gyllenhaal, James Woods, Jason Clarke, Richard Jenkins, Lance Reddick and Joey King also star.

The Roland Emmerich directed film hits US cinemas this June, but won’t reach the UK until September 6th. Take a look at the trailer above, while a new Tatum centred poster is below.

With Olympus Has Fallen doing well at US cinemas, the makers of rival terrorists-taking-over-the-White-House movie, White House Down, want to make sure people know about their movie too. Two posters for the film have been released, with the promise a trailer is imminent.

Both posters show Washington before the chaos descends, with Channing Tatum as a secret service agent who’s in the White House when a group of terrorists take over. He’s then tasked with guiding the President (Jamie Foxx) to safety. Maggie Gyllenhaal, James Woods, Jason Clarke, Richard Jenkins, Lance Reddick and Joey King also star.

Final Django Unchained Trailer – Tarantino’s film is looking cool

November 29, 2012 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

It’s not long now until Django Unchained hits UK cinemas on January 18th (and Christmas Day in the US), so to mop up any people who aren’t already excited about a new Tarantino movie, the final trailer has been released, which makes the movie look cool and action-packed.

Here’s the synopsis: ‘Set in the South two years before the Civil War, Django Unchained stars Academy Award-winner Jamie Foxx as Django, a slave whose brutal history with his former owners lands him face-to-face with German-born bounty hunter Dr. King Schultz (Christoph Waltz). Schultz is on the trail of the murderous Brittle brothers, and only Django can lead him to his bounty. The unorthodox Schultz acquires Django with a promise to free him upon the capture of the Brittles – dead or alive.

‘Success leads Schultz to free Django, though the two men choose not to go their separate ways. Instead, Schultz seeks out the South’s most wanted criminals with Django by his side. Honing vital hunting skills, Django remains focused on one goal: finding and rescuing Broomhilda (Kerry Washington), the wife he lost to the slave trade long ago.

‘Django and Schultz’s search ultimately leads them to Calvin Candie (Leonardo DiCaprio), the proprietor of “Candyland,” an infamous plantation where slaves are groomed by trainer Ace Woody (Kurt Russell) to battle each other for sport. Exploring the compound under false pretenses, Django and Schultz arouse the suspicion of Stephen (amuel L. Jackson), Candie’s trusted house slave. Their moves are marked, and a treacherous organization closes in on them. If Django and Schultz are to escape with Broomhilda, they must choose between independence and solidarity, between sacrifice and survival.’

Final US Django Unchained Poster Debuts

November 13, 2012 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

The world seems to be broken into factions, some of whom are most excited about The Hobbit being released in the next couple of months and some who can’t wait Quentin Tarantino’s new movie, Django Unchained. The film hits the US on December 25th and comes to the UK on January 18th.

With those dates fast approaching, the final US theatrical poster for the movie has now arrives via Yahoo! Movies. It sees Jamie Foxx, Christoph Waltz and Leo DiCaprio all looking pretty moody.

First Pics Of Channing Tatum In White House Down Arrive

November 6, 2012 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

The battle of the rival movies about the White House being taken over by terrorisst has started, with the first images from White House Down arriving via EW (and scanned by the fine folks at HeyUGuys).

Roland Emmerich directs the film, which is about a young Secret Service agent (Channing Tatum) who gets put to the ultimate test when a paramilitary group invades the White House and takes everyone hostage. Jamie Foxx, James Woods and Maggie Gyllenhaal also star.

The film will be going up against Olympus Has Fallen, which has a broadly similar plot, but has Antoine Fuqua directing, with Gerard Butler and Morgan Freeman starring. That movie is trying to get a jump on White House Down, with a spring release, while Emmerich’s movie hits US cinemas in June and is currently scheduled to hit the UK in September.

Jamie Foxx In Talks For Electro in The Amazing Spider-Man 2

November 2, 2012 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

Although the figure who showed up in the end credits of The Amazing Spider-man was never named, many assumed it was Electro. Now it appears that’s been confirmed as Variety reports that Jamie Foxx is in early negotiations to play that character in The Amazing Spider-Man 2.

Technically the fact the lead villain is Electro hasn’t been confirmed by Sony, but sources have told Variety that’s exactly who it will be. While Jamie Foxx’s interest in a role for this sequel has been confirmed, and it appears he’s keen, even if a deal hasn’t been signed.

Foxx even Tweeted, ‘Dressed up as Electro for Halloween last night. Costume fits well.— Jamie Foxx (@iamjamiefoxx)’

This would be the first time that Electro has ever appeared on screen. The character first appeared in 1964’s The Amazing Spider-Man #9. Here is Marvel’s official description of the character, ‘Maxwell Dillon has been one of Spider-Man’s most frequent and enduring adversaries, often fighting alongside some of the more powerful masterminds in the web-head’s rogues gallery, rather than creating intricate plots of his own. Raised by his overprotective mother, after his father abandoned them, Max had ambitions of being an electrical engineer. However, after being convinced by his mother that he was not smart enough to pursue such a career, Max instead reluctantly took a job as a lineman for an electric company. While repairing a power line still connected to its spool, Max was struck by lightning. Instead of being killed, the freak accident caused a mutagenic change in his nervous system, allowing him to generate and control vast amounts of electricity. After creating a colorful costume, Max turned to a life of crime as Electro.’

The film will shoot next year for release in 2014.
